Expanding Membership Benefits with Professional Members-Only Webinars

We're excited to expand our membership benefits with the launch of the members-only webinar series, which will be hosted by, and attended by, Social Media Club Professional* members. 

The Social Media Club community represents all industries and levels of expertise, but the key component is that all seek ways to improve their knowledge around social media tools and best practices. These members-only webinars will provide excellent content and extend visibility to Professionals in our community that are creating innovative campaigns and have advanced knowledge to share. 

We've already lined up the next three months of webinar speakers including:

June - Becky Carroll, "Using Social Media to Generate More Opportunities from Existing Customers" 

Becky Carroll is the author of The Hidden Power of Your Customers: Four Keys to Growing Your Business Through Existing Customers (Wiley, 2011). In addition, Becky is the Social Media Contributor for NBC/TV San Diego. She teaches the “Marketing via New Media” class at UC San Diego and is also an accomplished international speaker and a frequent contributor to industry conversations about social media, customer experience, and CRM, and customer service and loyalty.

In her most recent role, Becky was the Community Program Manager and social media strategist for Verizon, driving the conversation for their forums, blogs, and ideas collaboration site. Under her guidance, the Verizon Community was listed as the #1 online branded community by ComBlu and won the Best Community-Business Integration Social Excellence Award from Lithium Technologies. 

July - Chris Heuer, "The Engagement Curve: Economic Rationalization for Investing in Relationships and Systems of Engagement" 

Chris Heuer has been engaged in interactive communications since 1993, and launched his first agency, Guru Communications, out of South Beach, Florida in 1994. Over the years he has helped numerous startups with go-to market strategies, product design, web site development, online marketing campaigns, ecommerce and what is now widely referred to as Social Media.

Seeing similarities between the rise of the Web as a vital communications technology and the current rise of Social Media, Chris formed Social Media Club in March, 2006 to help more people understand the greater significance of what it means to be social and how media production/consumption has changed. To this end, Social Media Club is promoting media literacy, encouraging the sharing of lessons learned, promoting industry standards such as Creative Commons and discussing questions of ethics.

Chris currently serves as Specialist Leader, Social Media at Deloitte Consulting. 

August - Peter Kim, "Who's The Boss? Understanding Authority Ranking In Social Business"

Peter is Chief Strategy Officer of Dachis Group. He is a leading advisor on social business and drives global industry discourse on the topic, blogging at beingpeterkim.com and as @peterkim on Twitter. Peter also co-authored the book Social Business By Design.

Peter has been quoted by media outlets including CNN, CNBC, NPR, and The Wall Street Journal and featured as a speaker at events including SXSW, Web 2.0 Expo, and Dachis Group Social Business Summits.

Peter was previously an analyst at Forrester Research and head of international marketing operations, e-commerce, and digital marketing at PUMA AG. He holds degrees from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and the University of Pennsylvania.
