Facebook Pages Now Feature Roles Based Permissions & Scheduling

Yesterday Facebook launched new roles based permissions and scheduling functionality for Facebook fan pages.

Page administrators will now be able to determine the level of access of other admins. There are five roles including Manager, Content Creator, Moderator, Advertiser and Insights Analyst.

The Manager holds the most permissions including the ability to control admin roles, with the lowest permissions available to the Insight Analyst which only gives the user the ability to view Facebook Insights. Remember the default settings give all admins Manager permissions.

Here is the permissions breakdown via Facebook's Help Center

In another significant change, Facebook released an update that allows page admins to schedule posts in advance. This feature has been available but only through third-party apps.

Post scheduling will now allow admins to schedule content up to 6 months in advance, and up to every 15 minutes. This feature doesn't appear to have been released to all fan pages.

These changes will certainly impact third-party Facebook app providers that have been offerring a variety of features to serve the needs of marketers but we're excited Facebook is finally making the effort to beef up pages.

Are you excited by these new Facebook page updates? What update do you think they should make next to improve Admin functionality on fan pages?
