Young & Rubicam's 90th Anniversary & CEO David Sable's advice for Startups [Video]
Young & Rubicam celebrated its 90th year in business by inviting people around the world to join them in a social conversation that filled a Clear Channel Spectacolor Billboard at NY’s Times Square this Thursday. The billboard was populated with their profile pictures across a mosaic based on their tweets under the hashtag #AdvertisingIs.

The mosaic was provided by Hyperactivate, a startup based in Y&R's incubator space, which has a proprietary technology that created the mosaic from the Twitter and Facebook avatars. The collaboration is just one example of how Y&R and its clients are capitalizing the incubator space.
David Sable explains the purpose of the incubator space and his advice for startups.

Teenagers: Why You Should Care About Your Digital Footprint
Social networking is an exciting way to stay informed, grow relationships and have fun. An often forgotten point is that with social networks come preferred practices, things you should know about your privacy and how your digital footprint can be affected.

Whether it's your first day on Facebook or you've been on forever and have 300 friends, a lot of teens probably don't know about their digital footprint. That's okay, as long as you learn about it here, before you turn around and get bitten by your posts.
Your digital footprint is the data trail you leave with everything you do online. From your smartphone to the Internet and social networks, your data is being stored.
Class of 2013: Learn to Follow if you want to Lead
The title is as true for life as it is for Social Media, "great leaders come from those who learned to follow first". Leadership is not taught in a classroom, it begins during the higher education experience and develops when you become a part of a student group, club, internship or work in student affairs. Those opportunities are what separate the educated from employable professionals. Social Media is very much the same way, if you want to be effective as a thought leader, you'll need to be a follower, first.

+1, Try +41 by Ethan Parry
In the world of social media, we have shares, likes, tweets and +1s. The latter is used on Google’s social network, Google+. I must admit that I haven’t been the most active on Google+, but after reading this article I decided that I should at least create a page for the company where I work. Even though Google+ lags slightly behind Twitter and Facebook in terms of users, it is gaining in popularity. I still prefer other social networks, but remain optimistic about Google+’s future. I was made especially aware of the potential for Google+ after watching the announcements made at Google’s I/O Developer Conference last week regarding it. 41 new features were added.

Why Isn't My E-Mail Being Opened?

You do everything right. You send a weekly or monthly email newsletter to your clients and customers, When it comes to content, you’re sharing and writing great stuff. But, your email is still not getting opened. You feel like all you are doing is banging your head against a virtual wall with no results, and you have no idea why they won’t open it.
Every email you send falls into one of three categories: Now. Later. Never. (Thank you to Constant Contact for this information). And for the most part, it is really just Now or LaterNever (thank you to Ellen Williams for this). And we all want, and need, is our e-mail to be opened now, since we all know that “laternever” really never happens.

Are the Four P’s of Marketing Obsolete in the Digital Age?
The Four P’s: Price, Product, Place and Promotion are the foundation of traditional marketing. They have endured for decades. However, if the authors of a recent article found in the Harvard Business Review (HBR) are to be believed, their time has passed. While many people might read the article and say that all they’ve done is reworded the concepts to create a new acronym, they have in fact, created the new paradigm for the Digital Age: SAVE.

Social Media, Crisis Communication and the News
Life often throws us curveballs, events that seem to come out of nowhere. Whether you are an individual or a business, social media can be used to help mitigate any problem. However, if used incorrectly, social media can make a bad situation even worse. Ready.gov stresses the importance of having a crisis communication plan by saying,

Making Your Life Easier with Apps
Who doesn’t want their lives to be easier? Almost everyone I ask is looking for that one thing, whatever it is, that will make their business lives that much easier. And, as I work with small businesses, the biggest question I always get is, “Yes, but how do I find the time to do it all?”
How to find more time
The easiest way to find more time in your busy week, is to use tools that will enable you to accomplish several tasks at once. My favorite two applications for this purpose, Hootsuite and BufferApp, allow me to publish to several or all of my social networks with the click of just one button.
