Social Media Club was born in 2006 to expand digital media literacy, promote standard technologies, encourage ethical behavior, and share best practices. We continue to insist that the social media landscape is not an echo chamber of self-reinforcing thoughts but one that is fueled by diversity of opinion and perspective.
Our board of directors is in the process of forming committees to provide SMC support to strengthen the organization, our programs, and our members. Each committee will serve as an advocacy group and assist the board in promoting a positive image and superior relations with our global chapters and communities.
The initial term of office for committee members is one year. There is an option for renewal. Exceptions may be made for candidates who would contribute greatly to our initial development but who can only commit to a minimum 6-month term.
Our communications committee seeks members who are adept at performing the following tasks:
1. Social Media Club List Management:
You will manage global lists by correlating member database information with third-party data. You will work with chapters to help them create initial email lists and set up campaigns for membership surveys.
2. Content Calendar Management:
You will compile data from global teams and individual chapters for a monthly newsletter.
