After Yahoo’s affirmation on Thursday that passwords and usernames were indeed compromised, you may be wondering if you’re information is safe. And you should be concerned, not only if you have a Yahoo account, but also if you use any services provided by Gmail, MSN, Hotmail, Comcast, or AOL. Yahoo’s contributor network Yahoo! Voices was recently breached by a group of hackers known as “D33ds.” Yahoo discloses that around 400,000 passwords and usernames were stolen during the massive data leak.

But it will be pretty easy for you to tell if you need to cover your butt (electronically speaking, anyway) on this one – just visit this link to check any email addresses you have at the aforementioned services. During the data breach and hacking attack, the stolen information was actually posted for the public to view.

Yahoo officials say they are working to address the weakness which led to the spreading of such sensitive information. In the meantime, make sure you go to this link, check that your accounts are safe and secure, and always be sure to change passwords frequently. And pick complex passwords – no “123456” or “ABCDEFG,” please!
