You seem to hear that term a lot. Social Media expert. But being able to produce results is a lot more than just setting up a twitter account for your friend’s business. It’s about engagement.

Engagement is key to letting your customers know you care about their feedback. Twitter, Facebook, Yelp are the new customer service desks. True engagement cannot be outsourced to far off countries. In this respect, you don’t have to be a social media expert to get results. By being passionate about your product and producing current content for your customers, you are sure to win some loyalty.

So why even hire a expert? Social media never sleeps, it never stops to let you tend your products or brands. By hiring an expert, you can make sure there is a ‘face’ behind the account, the fan page while at the same time helping you market through new media channels. At the same time, you the business owner can continue to be a business owner.

Be wary of the self-titled expert, but be passionate about engagement.
