Are You Ignoring Your Real Customer’s Buying Behavior?

My sister remembers when the “fancy” mall opened in our hometown. She and my mom would dress up to go. By the time I was ready to hang out at the mall, I trudged from one store to the next in jeans or even (oh goodness) sweat pants. After the novelty wore off, customers came as they were – on their own terms. No amount of well-polished marble could compensate for the need to rush into the mall to grab something on the way home from a babysitting gig. My “customer buying behavior” was far from fancy, even though the mall wanted me to believe otherwise.

Why Do You Need Effective Web Content Filtering?

In the early days of web content filtering it was enough to configure a firewall to block certain sites from being accessed. An SME would maintain a blacklist of forbidden sites and update that list from time to time. This method did not offer deep packet inspection and only filtered Internet access based on a domain name.

A modern and effective web content filtering solution scans more than the domain name. By breaking down and analyzing web traffic, today’s filters are capable of accurately pinpointing portions of a web page that should not be allowed into the internal network. This allows websites to be accessed while blocking the portions of their content that is deemed unsafe by the filtering solution.

Why filter? Because granting your employees unfettered Internet access can open your company up to a host of problems, including:

According to the 2013 Content Marketing Budgets and Benchmark report, social media is the most popular marketing tactic used by B2B marketers.

With over 600,000 newspapers published by and for the B2B industry, I thought it would be interesting to see which tactics are working for our publishers.

In this week’s Publisher Spotlight I speak with Bróna O’Connor, Marketing Executive for FRKelly, and her colleague Shauna Tilley, Community Trade Mark Attorney to understand better how social media and technology are influencing the industry of Patents and Trademarks.
