Nicki Minaj Tweets That Va Va Voom

Last week an estimated 9.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. Although more than 20 awards were given, certain artists seemed to sweep the trophy table. Taylor Swift took home eight categories, Rihanna won four and my girl, Nicki Minaj, took home three awards. Although these artists obviously make melodious music, the Billboards are voted on primarily by the fans. So it begs the question, What do these three babes do differently to derive such a loyal fan base foundation?

I believe their active social media accounts are, in large part, what sets these celebrities on their own stage.Whether it’s Taylor Swift’s lovable cat pictures on Twitter or Rihanna’s up close and personal Instagram feed, these celebrities open up their lives to connect with fans.

Next Generation Search Analysis Software

I am very proud: With the newest release of Search Metrics Suite, we have raised the bar for search analysis software. In short, we make the value of an investment in search engine optimization important, measurable and understandable for management in a way Warren Buffett would want.
While others talk about the sense or nonsense of visibility in the search engines, we have simply worked to develop better metrics for online marketers with the next generation of search analysis software. What we’ve come out with is a new way to optimize search. Search Engine Optimization: The Search Metrics Suite now offers the ability to view the impact of rankings on your shopping carts, sales revenue and traffic plus understand your market share making SEO very tangible.

Woohoo, a Klout Perk for Graceland

This is a Klout Perk.

Because of my Klout influence (and the jury is out whether it’s good or bad), I have the opportunity to virtually meet the cast of Graceland!

This should be exciting.

But, it’s not.

Google’s Penguin Update 2.0: Loser analysis

The good news first. The data in Searchmetrics Suite and Essentials is fully updated providing the most current and accurate information. We usually do updates from Saturday to Sunday, but because of Google Penguin update 2.0, we did it today.

Social Commandments v2 - THOU SHALT KILL

I'm going to dispel a social media fallacy right now: Not only is it OK to delete a comment, post or thread – in some cases you should.

Suddenly the granite of the social media Commandments is showing its age. "Thou shalt not delete a user comment!" It can be done, and it can be done in a proper fashion.

Determining Success on Facebook

There’s a great article over on Duct Tape Marketing today about metrics to use to determine success on Facebook:

Customer service isn’t just about fixing problems after they happen — it’s also about proactively making sure your customers are happy. Sometimes, that means anticipating what could go wrong, preparing to surprise and delight, or showing you understand even the smallest part of their experience.

Here are three ways to give your customers a great reason to talk about you:

1. When they’ll be delayed
2. When they’re going to forget
3. When they’re celebrating

A Modest Proposal For Disaster Response

tornado catA 10-step proposal for responding to hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and wild fires.

Note: This idea was triggered watching a news report which noted there were no storm shelters in any of the schools or public buildings in Moore, Oklahoma to protect children and others from a devastating F5 tornado.

Dashboard connection to Postgres SQL, Pervasive, DB2 and more

In the new release of InfoCaptor Enterprise, we added some very useful features.

1. Ability to connect to Postgres SQL

2. Ability to connect to Pervasive database

3. Test Database connections before adding them to the system.

Infocaptor works will all types of JDBC and ODBC connections. So if you need to connect to DB2 or say Firebird database, then download the jdbc drivers from the vendors website and place them in the tomcat/lib directory and then use the "Other JDBC" (in figure below)
