1996 - The Internet International Ad Hoc Committee is formed. It consists of the Internet Architecture Board, Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, International Trademark Association, Internet Society, International Telecommunication Union, and World Intellectual Property Organization. The group was formed to govern top level domains. It would ultimately be disbanded on May 1, 1997
