RIM Confirms NFC, OpenGL 2.0, Magnetometer & Digital Compass On Future Smartphones & BlackBerry OS 6.1
Yesterday I let you know that RIM’s Co-CEO Jim Balsillie confirmed NFC chips for upcoming BlackBerry smartphones. In a video over at the Inside BlackBerry Developer’s Blog, Mike Kirkup also confirmed NFC and more. In addition to NFC, future BlackBerry smartphones will also get OpenGL 2.0, Magnetometer and Digital Compass support through BlackBerry OS 6.1. This bit of info further confirms the validity of the leaked specifications for upcoming BlackBerry devices for this year.
