The Tech Valley Chapter aims to bring together all our our local resources, knowledge, and social capital to promote the following key areas:

1) Social Media Education – Through speaking events, round-table discussions, and presentations, SMC Tech Valley seeks to educate professionals, small business owners, educators, non-profits, journalists, public relations, government, and those in the Social Media industry. Each event will speak to a different audience and will have tangible take-aways and action items for attendees that can be implemented for those who attend.

2) Putting the “Social” in Social Media – Through our own events and coordination with local Tweetup groups, SMC Tech Valley aims to have both relaxed social events and professional networking events. Events will include social mixers, wine and beer tasting, and speed networking.

3) Knowledge Sharing – SMC Tech Valley will pool all local social media knowledge together in one place though our website – syndicating local blogs, articles, and news with the goal of making smctechvalley.org a “one stop shop” for all things social media in Tech Valley. We are seeking bloggers, reporters, and social media consultants and experts who wish to help create this resource.
