1 in every 3 women around the globe faces atleast violence of a kind, be it sexual, domestic or even an eve-teasing. And with the world population of 7 billion and a sex ratio of 101 men to 100 women, this adds up to more than 1 billion women and girls. On this Feb 14th, Aizawl, Mizoram will also join the billion who will be expressing their outrage, demand change, strike, dance and rise in defiance of injustices women suffer, demanding an end at last to the vioelence against women across the globe.

SMCAssam is very proud to be a part of this One Billion Rising event in Aizawl, Mizoram and also on being the online (social media) collaborator to make this event a successfull one. The FB page and the OBR event page for OBR Aizawl are proudly being initiated & managed by SMCAssam till this word.
