To spread the Social Media Word in the Charm City and all of Maryland.
We are looking for some new board members!
Appointments are for one year unless circumstances dictate otherwise. Each position is a critical need for the group, so no matter what your experience level may be please feel free to apply and help bring Social Media innovation to Baltimore.
Chair (1 needed)
- · Manages monthly events and planning committee calls
- · Coordinates with National leaders on event topics and national programs
- · Manages relationships with other national and local social media-related organizations
- · Responsible for any position duties not filled
- · Helps with Social Media activities
- · Acts as the face of the Social Media Club in the Baltimore area
Programming Director (1 VP needed):
- · Coordinates with Leadership Council on event topics
- · Coordinates with the Partnership Director to secure speakers and identify venues for each event
- · Secures speaker bios and contact information (share information with Promotions Director)
- · Prepares the event program for each public event, including agenda, directions and other special instructions
Partnership Directors (2 VPs needed):
- · Build and maintains relationships with, and identify co-sponsorship opportunities with, local marketing and technology organizations
- · Identifies and manages the relationships with past and future event sponsors, co-sponsors and venues
- · Coordinates with the Programming Director to find appropriate time slots, topics and venues for partner-sponsored events
- · Coordinates with the Event Manager to identify speaker and sponsor needs for each event
Promotions Director (1 VP needed):
- · Updates the Social Media Club web pages on the main Social Media Club site
- · Coordinates with Programming Director to secure program agenda for each event
- · Promotes future events through all established SMC-Balitmore channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email)
- · Publicizes future events through online and traditional channels
- · Records, publishes and shares audio and video from events (works with the Content Organizer/Digital Scribe)
Event Managers (3 needed):
- · Assumes responsibility for event program from Programming Director
- · Schedules and manages planning meetings with event sponsors and speakers
- · Manages on-site signage, video, audio and lighting (work with Partnership/Sponsorship Director)
- · Coordinates food and drink with event sponsors and/or venue (work with Partnership/Sponsorship Director)
- · Staffs and manages event registration (work with Partnership/Sponsorship Director)
- · Manages development and collection of feedback forms
- · Manages giveaways and all-other on-site activities, if applicable
Content Organizer/Digital Scribe (2 total):
- · Records, publishes and shares audio and video from events
- · Posts material to YouTube, Facebook, uStream, etc.
