SMC Boston Authors Panel Recap
Nearly 50 small business owners, social media practitioners, and students from all walks of life streamed into the Boston Public Library’s former “newspaper room” on June 14 to listen to four authors talk about their books and ask questions about social media and the future of marketing.
Our invited authors were:
- Mike Proulx, director of social media at Hill Holiday and co-author of “Social TV“
- Kipp Bodnar, inbound marketing specialist at HubSpot and co-author of “The B2B Social Media Book“
- Leslie Poston, founder of Magnitude Media and author of “Social Media Metrics for Dummies“
- Robert McHale, founding attorney of R|McHale Law and author of “Navigating Social Media Legal Risks“
I kicked off the night, introducing the audience to the purpose of SMC Boston and, one by one, asking each of the authors to read brief excerpts from their books before moderating panel and audience in a well-rounded discussion.
Here is a Storify collection of quotables from the night:

Many thanks to the Boston Public Library for graciously hosting their room for us. It wouldn’t have been the same to have authors and book readings anywhere else.
