SOCIAL MEDIA CLUB BUFFALO TO HOST SOCIAL MEDIA DAY BUFFALO JUNE 30
One of over 2000 cities to host a meetup on International Social Media Day

Buffalo, NYSocial Media Club Buffalo (SMC Buffalo) will host Social Media Day Buffalo on Saturday, June 30 from 4 to 7 pm inside Lobby Bar at Statler City (107 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY 14202). 

Social Media Day is part of an international movement of gatherings or “meetups” among social media professionals and enthusiasts.  Mashable, the go-to blog for technology news and information, created this day in 2010. 

Social Media Day Buffalo will feature entertainment, networking among participants, food and drink specials, and informational tables from organizations around the area. AT&T will sponsor a live Twitter stream on television screens throughout the bar as well as a red-carpet twitpic opportunity. Event-goers can view their tweets by adding the #smdaybuf hashtag to their tweets.

“Each year Social Media Day continues to bring enthusiasts and social media marketing professionals from Buffalo into a real-life networking setting,” said Nicole Schuman, Social Media Club Buffalo president. “We wish to welcome everyone from novices to experts to take part in the celebration and learn a bit more about the impact of social media in Buffalo.”

Proceeds from a $5 pre-registration admission will go to Computers for Children, Inc. They can be purchased at http://smdaybuf2012.eventbrite.com/. Tickets will be $8 at the door (cash only). Complimentary appetizers will accompany $2.50 well drinks and domestic beer. 

New this year will be a Social Challenge. Participants will be asked to complete a five-item checklist of activities using various social media applications, and one winner will be randomly selected to win a grand prize.
