We're all sitting on our couches recovering from Beyonce's half time performance with our iPhones, iPads and laptops ready, waiting with anticipation for the next great tweet opportunity when the moment strikes. The power goes out at the Super Bowl. (!!!) What do we DO? The Twitter kids had been eagerly dissecting all the TV commercials and then for a solid 30 minutes or so there was nothing to talk about. NOTHING!
Oh, hey guys. Look at this:
This was a great use of real-time marketing for a few reasons:
Keith Kmett, CUA delivered an excellent presentation explaining basic definitions of the two concepts. While the two are closely related, usability and user experience are different, particularly because both disciplines care greatly about user satisfaction.
On December 11, four members of a public relations team at Two Rivers Marketing lead panel discussion to showcase different social media tactics supporting tradeshow efforts. The two shows they focused on were SEMA and FABTECH, both held in November in Las Vegas. The client at the center of these efforts for both of these shows is Miller Electric Mfg. Co., a leading manufacturer of welding and cutting equipment based in Appleton, Wis.
Do you still have a million things to do before the end of this year? Like finally updating your LinkedIn profile or teaching your mom how to use Facebook? One of my goals for 2012 was to get more involved in Des Moines and do a bit more networking. Thanks to the Social Media Club of Des Moines (SMCDSM), I've actually managed to cross that one off my to-do list before 2013!
So if you're hanging out this week wishing you had a few more friends or new people to follow on Instagram, think of us. The SMCDSM is perfect for networking as well as socializing. Afterall, "social" is part of our name.

This was the basis for Spindustry Digital’s presentation to the Social Media Club of Des Moines on the evening of November 7.
