FREE Class – Facebook for Businesses at Henderson County Public Library
Led by Mary Biever, the Henderson County Public Library is hosting a FREE Facebook for Businesses class on Thursday, October 6, 2011. Class outline from the hcpl.org website
Learn how to get started using Facebook for your business and use it as part of your marketing strategy to better engage customers. Registration is required and all participants must have an email account and a personal Facebook account before registering. Interested participants may schedule a one-on-one session with the Library’s Public Computer Instructor, Retta Zollinger, to set up email and personal Facebook accounts prior to registration. Participants must be experienced mouse and keyboard users and must also have basic knowledge of using an Internet browser.
Boy Scout Council Seeks Assistance with Social Media Training
The Social Media Club of Evansville has been approached by the Boy Scout Council for some assistance on social media training. The Boy Scout Council is hosting a training event on November 19th and is seeking trainer(s) to provide instruction to the parents and volunteers for the local Boy Scouts. They have tentatively scheduled 2 classes at 9:30 – 10:20 am & 1:10 – 2:00 pm. Each class is limited to 25 attendees.
It is anticipated for the discussion to cover the following:
- Boy Scouts of America’s guidelines to social media – don’t identify kids with first and last name, closed group – individuals have to ask to join etc.
- Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn
- Creating Private Groups
As this training is for the volunteers of Boy Scouts of America, this role is volunteer only. Lunch will be provided.
