KC%20Social%20Media%20Command%20Center-lWhen tourists think of Kansas City, they typically think Royals, BBQ and jazz. Adding to that list this year is…social media?

As the 2012 MLB All-Star Game host city, Kansas City will be attracting visitors from all over the country.

The Maddening Lessons of Social Madness

OneLouder Apps has a score of 125,675 and Cerner has a score of 1,450. The goal is to get the bigger numbers. The competition is called Social Madness. I’m not really sure what it’s about.

Call for Volunteers: #KC Social Media Command Center

Kansas City is home to the 2012 All-Star game and SMCKC, VisitKC, H&R Block & the Mayor's office will be hosting KC's first #KC Social Media Command Center during the festivities.

What is the #KC Social Media Command Center?  Great question!

Join SMCKC To Support #TeamKrisMiner

SMCKC, we need your help. Our longtime member and friend, Ken Miner, needs us to pool our resources and do what we do best: share! Ken's wife, Kris, is in need of a DNA match for bone marrow donation and we need you to help us add people to the National Bone Marrow Registry. We're also raising money for the organization to continue to afford the DNA tests needed to take registrants.

During the next several days, we'll be tweeting on behalf of #teamkrisminer with the goal to get the hashtag trending. We'll lead people to Kris' donation page -- our goal is to register 1,000 people and raise $25,000.

If you'd like to help out, please consider signing up to be a bone marrow donor and/or donating to the national registry. We'd also love your help in spreading the word. Here's a tweet that you can copy and paste:
