The Armour Hills Homes Association of Kansas City is a Country Club District homes association with just over 1000 homes located between Brookside and Waldo. In response to numerous requests from neighborhood residents, the Board of Directors has issued a formal RFP defining a paid position to develop and/or implement a communications and social media program to serve the neighborhood.
The attached document details the needs of the neighborhood as well as the instructions and timeline for responding.
When asked if they produce content for their company, a majority of the hands went up in Kansas City Café on March 2. Though a social media club S.M.C.K.C. is comprised of many different occupations and talents. As companies are looking to grow online, social media strategies of interacting with your target audience can play a key role in how companies form their publishing department.
Brody Dorland and Jayme Thomason of Divvy HQspoke at the March S.M.C.K.C. breakfast and presented a multidimensional approach to content marketing. Their effective approach to posed modern techniques on how companies, agencies, smaller business, etc. can improve their publishing department through strategies and workflows.
Our friends at Enterprise Center of Johnson County (ECJC) are looking for someone to do a one-hour Social Media Analytics Basics presentation next Thursday, March 8th from 11am-11:55am, to be followed by a more advanced presentation from Spiral16 representatives.
If you're available that day and willing to present, please contact me and I'll put you in touch with their coordinator.
SMCKC Vice President/>
I owe everyone a big apology.
We began to ask for $5 to attend SMCKC Breakfasts (apart from normal breakfast charges) starting in February and we did a really crappy job of letting the community know before we did it and most importantly why. It's my job as President to make sure that any changes like this are communicated to you and we have many channels to choose from.
We've been so proud to be able to offer SMCKC breakfasts for no charge to everyone since 2008. The reasons that your Board voted on the $5 charge was two fold:
The first and most pressing was that we had incurred costs when we bought all of the equipment that we use at breakfast with the monitor, mics, screen & projector costing $1000. This and other hard expenses were adding up and we didn't feel it was right to be going out of our board member's pockets, especially my own.
Social media enthusiasts explored the different uses of Pinterest.com during the S.M.C.K.C. February 16 event. The Pinterest-inspired happy hour spread at Barkley really seemed to showcase the function of Pinterest, to share ideas and discoveries with the group. Not knowing much about the Pinterest myself beyond the photo-sharing aspect, the casual discussion was a great tool in learning more about Pinterest and how to navigate it.
The usability of online media sharing seems to becoming more similar to how people function in real life. The purpose of Pinterest is to share photos, videos, with other Pinterest account users like you would pinning a picture to a corkboard. Users can add content by using the Pin It button or by uploading it from their computer or smart phone.
