Social media is not only changing consumer-business relationships but also, citizen-government. In recent months, more politicians and public sector agencies in Malaysia are embracing social technologies. However, the use of social media Public Sector holds both promises and challenges. Promises include greater administrative efficiency, transparency and effective rakyat engagement. Challenges include mindset shifts and reengineering government machinery to embrace the social web for a more rakyat-centric, high-performance governance.
