We are excited to do a solutions meeting with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County, a local non-profit organization that helps match caring mentors with children who need the friendship of a special adult in their lives.
Stacie Salverson-Schroeder, Area Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County, will present members of the Social Media Club of Lawrence with an overview of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County and identify key social media goals and challenges facing the organization. Social Media Club members will then brainstorm and synthesize solutions related to the social media issues.
The meeting will be held at our regular location, Signs of Life, 722 Massachusetts, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 2.

How are your smartphone social media habits different compared to interactions on a computer? What social media apps do you use exclusively on your phone and why? These open topic meetings are always relaxed and fun as we share and learn from each other.

Phil Duncan, Café Manager for Signs of Life, will present a brief background on the history of social media usage by Signs of Life, how social media is managed (by one person, by a team, any policies, etc.), what social media goals Signs of Life has and what they see as the challenges they face in achieving the goals.
Bring your thinking caps. After the brief overview, we’ll break into small teams to brainstorms solutions. We’ll then close the meeting with a period of sharing and dialogue about the challenges and solutions for Signs of Life.
