Using Social Media to Communicate in a Crisis - Oct. 16

Does your organization have a plan in place if you needed to communicate with your audience in a crisis?

This week, we welcome Jeni Daley, Marketing Director for the Lawrence Public Library, who will share with us how the library worked through recent challenges related to their annual book sale.

After learning that some donated books were contaminated, library staff worked quickly to communicate via traditional and social media channels what had happened and the steps taken to protect library property and patrons.

Jeni will share this story and tips for using social media during a (real or potential) crisis.

The meeting will be held at our regular location, Signs of Life, 722 Massachusetts, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 16.

Smartphone Apps for Social Media - 7:30 a.m., Wed., Sep. 25

A lot of social media interaction happens on the go. In this week’s open topic, we’ll be discussing social media apps for smartphones. Which ones do you use? How are your smartphone social media habits different compared to interactions on a computer? What social media apps do you use exclusively on your phone and why? These open topic meetings are always relaxed and fun as we share and learn from each other.

Join us at Signs of Life, 722 Massachusetts, Lawrence, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 25.
