Favorite Social Media Tips from #smclk
For this week’s meeting, we asked members to bring their favorite social media tips to share.
Here’s a list of some of the things we talked about. You can check out the websites to find out more about each app or tool.
Another app called Shush was mentioned but I can’t find a website for it! Rachel, if you’re reading this, can you help?!

A few upcoming evening social media events

Keeping It Real: Online Interpersonal Relationships, a Science on Tap event
Meeting Notes: Kickstarter
Last week’s SMC Lawrence meeting focused on Kickstarter. We didn’t have a presenter lined up for this meeting, it was intended to be a roundtable discussion and we hoped that someone in attendance would have experience with Kickstarter.
The group was fortunate in that two new attendees showed up: Gareth (@gmskarka), who currently holds the record for the highest-funded Kickstarter project in Lawrence at $50,000, and Patricia (@beatp) who has contributed to many Kickstarter projects.
What is Kickstarter?
Meeting Notes: Social Media & Events
I didn’t actually take notes during last Wednesday’s meeting about using social media to manage and promote events, but I’ll do my best to remember some of the highlights.
