Back from a Brief Hiatus...
In January, it was the Saints (Who Dat!). In February, Mardi Gras. March was SxSW and April brought Jazz Fest. Let's face it, there is no shortage of distractions in New Orleans. That's part of the reason we continue to attract that elusive "creative class."
New Orleans is rich with musicians who pioneered and remain the stalwarts of MySpace. We have a reputable advertising community that is facing shifting communications platforms. In a post-Katrina, oil spill environment, our grassroots campaigns can be bolstered by new fundraising methods. Restaurants are recognizing the power of Yelp and small businesses are adopting geo-targeted online efforts that maximize engagement and minimize budgets.
The goal of Social Media Club New Orleans is to foster collaboration, education and conversation to navigate the ever changing world of social media. Whether you want to raise money, sell a product or build an army of advocates, there’s probably an app for that.
Stayed tuned for lots of interesting programming and a passionate new leadership team. Join now (it’s free!) for updates on upcoming events. And, of course, if you get it, share it. Help us spread the word.
More soon- Tiffany
