We’ve had a great response to last Thursday’s inaugural meeting of Social Media Club Niagara, tripling our membership on the head club house site – socialmediaclub.org and a jump in Facebook fans and on Twitter.
Forty people turned and several more have emailed to say they couldn’t make it but will be at the next meeting for sure. We had a great mix of people – not just SM/web industry folks. There were business people, artists, teachers and even a couple of local government types.
We introduced everyone to the concept of Social Media Club, a little a bit of history and what’s coming down the road and chapter leader Janice Arnoldi and founding member Adam White lead a conversaton about Facebook privacy. Then some good chatting over pizza, beer and wine.
Everyone seems pumped for the next Social Media Club Niagara meeting and we’ve had some good action on Twitter, with nearly 150 followers and now 40 fans on Facebook fans . We’re running our membership list off of socialmediaclub.org and we tripled our membership to 19, so that’s great. Everyone, go there and join!
We had everyone take a short survey so we could gauge the level of involvement in social media and pretty much everyone was using tools in some way. We want to make the meetings relevant so if you haven’t taken the survey, please download it, fill it out and email it to contact@smcniagara.com
