We wanted to share some exciting results from our 2011 census involving Social Media Club Silicon Valley, where innovators from California meet for monthly events to share, engage and collaborate with the community on the issues of social media and technology. On Thursday the 27th of Januray the Social media Club Silicon Valley chapter kicked off our first event at the PayPal campus in San Jose. Even with short notice and little advertising we had a great crowd. The founder of Social Media Club, Chris Heuer, kicked off the event with a few words and his hopes for the new chapter.

"Social Media for Social Good" was out topic and it drew an experienced group of panelists to share their experiences using social media and related technology to achieve social good for others in their communities.
