The Official Kick-off of the Social Media Club of Tacoma
It’s happening! The official kick-off to Social Media Club of Tacoma. We will be gathering at the Varsity Grill in Tacoma for some networking and the opportunity to get to know each other.
No matter what your social media interests are, this event is for you. Whether you are just beginning to explore, or totally emerged in the social media world, this is the beginning of monthly events where we can share, learn and build relationships.

We will be announcing our April and May events soon. Look for a perfect mix of education and networking. Our April event will feature a panel on blogging.
Admission is free. Support our first event by purchasing from a fine selection of food and beverages at the Varsity Grill. And a special thanks to Comcast for covering the fee of the room.

SMCTacoma – What Do You Want to See?
Welcome to Social Media Club of Tacoma. As you may know, we received the go- ahead from the national SMC, so the ball is rolling.
A little background: Travis Steeple and I jumped at the chance when SMC Seattle sent out a tweet asking if there was interest in Tacoma. To make a short story even shorter, the two of us forged ahead. And here we are!
A couple of weeks ago a few of us met at Commencement Bay Coffee. Travis Teeple, Walter Neary, Rene Fabre and Veronica Sopher (board member from SMCSeattle) and I had a brainstorming session. We came up some great ideas and others that kind of sucked. But then that’s what brainstorming is all about: a free flow of ideas. In the end, we decided that Tacoma and the surrounding area is ripe for this kind of group. And so social media has come to the South Sound!
It’s time to move ahead. We want to know what you are looking for in SMCTacoma. Is it education? Networking? A blend of both? Remember, SMCTacoma is a chance for everyone to learn. We are all at different levels and we all have things to learn.
We want our events to be open and welcoming to all. Whether you are a small biz owner, part of a larger corporation, in education or nonprofit, or a geeked-out individual, please join us.
And you know what’s really cool? SMCSeattle is there for us. They have been very generous in sharing thoughts and ideas and we are sure we will have a solid partnership.
