Mark Dusseault from the Belfry Theatre.
The Belfry is Victoria’s largest contemporary theatre, producing up to 12 plays per year. Mark will share what he has learned working with the Victoria community – knowing that community and social media go hand in hand.
Join us as we wrap up a social 2012 for a time of mingling, interaction and discussion, PLUS a couple of presentations on the latest tools, discoveries and what & how innovators in Victoria are doing social media. We meet from 7:00 – 9 :00 p.m. but the Social Media Help Desk is available at 6:30 p.m.

If you have any social media questions or need assistance, come early for the “Social Media Help Desk” which runs 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. for all levels of users. Bring your questions regarding Facebook pages, what a hashtag means and how to best gather search engine optimization.

Just a quick update to the notice below – due to the awesome move for Cabin 12 to their new location across from Cedar Hill Recreation Centre we are no longer able to hold our Spring Mixer at the Cabin.
BUT WAIT! There’s more. Veneto Tapa Lounge has kindly offered us the use of their cafe side for all us #yyj social mediaite’s.
It’s the same day and time, Wednesday, March 7th, 6:30 (for the Help desk) till 9pm. But the location is now Veneto, in the Hotel Rialto on the corner of Douglas and Pandora.
There’ll still be great conversation, cool presentations, yummy food and bevvis available. Hope to see you there!
As social media evolves, the way the Victoria Social Media Club operates has evolved as well. The SMC Victoria leadership is pleased to announce some exciting changes to our meeting format!
Firstly, as of March 7th, we will begin to meet quarterly. When possible the group will meet the first Wednesday of every “seasonal change” month (meaning March, June, September and December).
Secondly, our meeting format will turn to more of a mixer & informational session. Every meeting will host a “Social Media Help Desk” from 6:30-7pm for all levels of social media users. Bring your questions about how to start up a Facebook business page, what does a hashtag mean and how can I best gather search engine optimization.
