Social Business in 2012 with Chris Heuer, Social Media Club Chairman
Wed. February 08 2012
6:00pm - 8:00pm
Join Social Media Club Vancouver for a Socratic group discussion on the state of social media today. The event will be hosted in the 26th floor conference center of Deloitte Consulting LLP in downtown Vancouver (near Burrard Skytrain).
Social Media Club Founder and Global Chairman, Chris Heuer, will present a brief presentation to set the stage for the discussion. According to Chris, “As the web brought us eBusiness, social media is bringing us Social Business. The parallels seem clear, but how does that affect Social Media Club, and how does it affect each of us who have been engaged in social media the last several years."
Questions to be explored include:
-
What are the strategic and tactical parallels and differences?
-
What can we learn from the past to help guide us today?
-
How does that affect the careers of social media strategists? Community managers?
-
Where does social business belong in the organization?
-
How is startup funding affected?
And finally, building on top of this Deloitte Debate Chris recently wrote about
-
Is social business strategy 'baked in' or 'bolted on'?
Chris, who's day job is a Specialist in Social Business for Deloitte Consulting, will be joined by Nelson Kunkel, a Director leading Deloitte's Global Experience Design practice.
Chris only makes it out to Vancouver once per year so don’t miss this opportunity! The event is free to attend, and the evening will have the feel of a community Tweetup a great opportunity to meet and mingle with other locals from Vancouver's social media scene.
Look forward to seeing you there!
