Jackie Lampugnano

Jackie is a PR girl and quite the social media enthusiast. She’s currently an Account Executive at Walker Sands Communications, mainly working with clients that provide marketing technology solutions. Jackie graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in public relations/advertising and marketing.

Jackie has a diverse range of public relations agency and non-agency experience, although she’s currently found her niche in b-to-b PR. She’s a full-on techie and loves all things marketing, especially digital. On Sundays in the fall you will probably find Jackie screaming at the TV in her Bears jersey while she trash talks to opposing teams via Twitter. Other than that, she’s just your average social media nerd who enjoys anyone that can make her laugh and everyone who has a forward-thinking mind.

Jackie can be reached at jlampugnano at gmail dot com and of course on Twitter: @jackielamp. She also blogs about industry topics on Gen Wise Perspective.

Chicago’s Startup Scene is Bringing Social to a Whole New Level
The funny thing when we talk about social media is that we often don’t take a step back to realize that the majority of our communication (aside from videos, images, etc.) is text on a screen of some...

What if Social Media Never Changed?
By now everyone has probably seen the new Facebook changes. I’ll admit that I’m not an avid Facebook user, so it feels like every time I log on to the site I’m bombarded by something new that makes...

Putting the “social” back in social media
The biggest irony about social media is that, although we define it as “social,” it’s all about interaction taking place via technology. There’s something not-so-social about a device (laptop,...

Are we getting tired of social media?
Not necessarily, but it seems that we’re heading in a new direction. Perhaps it’s that we’re tired of the way social media exists in a more basic form. This is evident in the evolution of social...

How are journalists using social media?
As a PR professional, one thing I’m always interested in is the mind of a journalist. As someone who believes that social media is a valuable business tool, I’m constantly preaching to my fellow PR...

When is it necessary to communicate face-to-face?
As digital natives, Gen Y-ers have less of a tendency to communicate about things in person. Kim and I work in the same office but still email and tweet at each other instead of just getting up and...

When it comes to social media, are you influential or just popular?
The recent debate about Klout’s metrics for measuring a person’s social media influence, it made me wonder about that exact question. Some point out the problem with Klout by using an example of a...

How has Charlie Sheen amused you today?
Although Charlie Sheen might actually be out of his mind, the guy is highly amusing. Instead of speculating about his habits (I mean, he told us to “back off on the judgment” after all) I thought I’d...
