Seemingly born to communicate through the written word, Nicole Schuman intended to become a journalist. But technology kept evoloving, the economy crashed and student loans were on the horizon. So Ms. Schuman followed the path life kept presenting her with--still writing, but sculpting that verbiage to work in public relations and marketing.

Ms. Schuman currently owns her own marketing communications business in Western New York.  She is also the President and co-founder of Social Media Club Buffalo. Ms. Schuman noticed a need for the organization in her region as her social media contacts continued to increase. Many colleagues reached out to one another, looking for a place where they could discuss the latest social media news and tactics, while also enjoying social interaction. Social Media Club Buffalo was born in July 2010 and is now an official chapter with over 25 active members. They not only provide each other with the latest knowledge and ideas on social media marketing and engagement, but offer to help those in the community with getting started as well.

Ms. Schuman attended St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York where she earned a degree in Journalism/Mass Communications.  She then attended the University at Buffalo where she earned a Master's Degree in English and American Studies. She is also a graduate of Leadership Buffalo, a freelance public relations, social media and marketing communications professional, and is a member of several local organizations including Infotech Niagara, Buffalo Niagara 360 and PRSA Buffalo Niagara. She also serves on the board for the annual Handbag Happy Hour sponsored by Ladies of the Vine, which annually donates their proceeds to a needy, women-owned organization.

She currently resides in Buffalo, NY and enjoys the Elmwood Village, dogsitting, indie rock dance parties, traveling, The Amazing Race, wine, great restaurants and connecting people with each other.
