Official Statement on COVID-19

We want you to know that Social Media Club has been monitoring the coronavirus outbreak closely and its profound impact on our daily lives, and also our upcoming events.

At this time, we are making the shift toward virtual events and putting all of our in-person events on hold until the outbreak is contained.

To keep yourself and your community safe, the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control recommend the following guidelines:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • If you are sick, stay home.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or bent elbow.

  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

  • If you experience a fever, cough, or trouble breathing, call your doctor or nearest healthcare facility and follow their instructions.

There is nothing like an in-person, local gathering among SMC friends, but we value the safety, health and well-being of our community above everything.

We are fully prepared to make the necessary accommodations for our members and event guests to participate with virtual events. Thankfully, Social Media Club leaders and members are well-versed in the collaborative digital technologies that bring us together.

We are more than happy to assist our event attendees who are still learning how to get the hang of webinars and virtual meetings. It’s who we are and what we do. If you require a special accommodation to participate with a virtual SMC event, please let us know so we can schedule a time to get you setup and ready to participate.

We have long wanted to add more webinars and virtual live meetings to our existing programming, and there is no time like the present to lean in to that opportunity. In most cases, this will enable more of you to participate with our events both near and far.

Together, we will make it work, we will stay connected, and we will make it engaging and meaningful.

In good times, and in challenging times, we’re with you. We wish you, your loved ones, and your team good health in the months to come.

Stay safe and healthy,

Social Media Club Global Leadership Team
