As you may have heard, Social Media Club launched a monthly book club a few weeks ago, with the purpose to highlight some of the industry thought leaders to the Social Media Club community. We want the book club to spur conversation on the local level, to further our missions on sharing best practices and strengthening community.
We are very fortunate to be working closely with Wiley, Pearson and McGraw-Hill Publishing companies to supplement the book of the month with webinars featuring the authors, to help provide a deeper dive into their work. You may look forward to a webinar to be scheduled towards the end of each month and encourage you to participate in open Q&A with the authors and of course, read their books!
Yesterday kicked off the first of our webinars, which featured Sean Moffitt and Mike Dover, authors of Wikibrands: Reinventing Your Company in a Customer-Driven Marketplace.
Unfortunately, we encountered some tech issues so after an hour+ of recording the audio….it failed. Live and learn. We will absolutely have this issue resolved by the next webinar which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th at 2pm EDT.
Here are the slides from Sean and Mike, who put together a great presentation giving many examples of tactics used by large brands on how they’ve effectively grown their communities by empowering their brand evangelists. We especially enjoyed hearing some of the small businesses who have seen results or are using social media as their primary marketing tool, example, Naked Pizza.
The majority of audience questions revolved around creating the right content and how to best support brand evangelists.
We hope you took some actionable insights from the webinar and were able to apply some of those insights to your strategy.
Better yet, pick up a copy of Wikibrands!
We will be revealing the April book of the month next week, stay tuned!
