Social Media Club Welcomes New Editorial Team

Social Media Club is progressing in some bigs ways, one of which launches today, our Social Media Club Editorial Team.  We called on some of our most dedicated volunteers to help Social Media Club create valuable educational content, in the way of interviews, how-to's and case studies.  

Our Editorial Team will feature daily blogs under Social Media Clubhouse, to help educate the community using their varied skill sets.  Our team is made up of Entrepreneurs, Developers, Small Business Owners, an Attorney, Public Relations/Marketing Professionals, Journalists and Students.  We are proud to showcase their talents since we feel they truly reflect Social Media Club's Global community, with bloggers from Sweden, India, South Africa, the United States and will continue to grow our Editorial Team over the coming weeks. 

 

Social Media Club's Editorial Team 

Chrissie Scelsi is the principal of Scelsi Entertainment and New Media Law in Port Charlotte, Florida. She focuses her practice in entertainment and intellectual property law, including but not limited to matters for clients in music, film, video games, interactive and social media, as well as copyright, trademark and general business counseling.

 

 

Jackie Lampugnano is a PR girl and quite the social media enthusiast. She’s currently an Account Executive at Walker Sands Communications, mainly working with clients that provide marketing technology solutions. Jackie graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in public relations/advertising and marketing. 

 

 

Amy Phillips is Self- Proclaimed: Queen Of Inappropriate, Princess of Randomness, and the Duchess of the Non-Sequitur. A former military wife armed with a political science degree and an abundance of opinion. By day, she is a SharePoint developer for a large Management Consulting firm. By night, is a blogger, social media junkie, and stressed out single parent. She believes in seeing the humor in any situation and if no humor can be found, then a heavy dose of sarcasm will have to do. 

 

Bryan Fenster was drawn to Twitter a year ago by his brother (@D_Feez), and has been an advocate of social media and the power it harnesses in community building ever since. One thing about Bryan, he loves his hometown of Detroit, and is very proud to be an @DetroitNation [Chicago] organizer. The nonprofit world and social issues are of great interest to him, and he takes to the blogosphere whenever he can, showcasing the causes he finds most inspiring. This opportunity with the Social Media Club is a venture he is very excited about, and he looks forward to building more relationships and community along the way! 

 

Katy Bailey is a soon-to-be graduate, majoring in marketing at University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Currently, she is interning with a local search engine marketing firm and very excited to see where her career will take her. 
 

 

 

Kareema Bahamou graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor of Communications (concentrations: journalism and advertising). She is bi-lingual in Spanish and English and spent two years living abroad in South American, where she taught English and volunteered in a boys orphanage. She loves hiking, rock climbing and periodically jotting down her travel experiences on her blog. 
 

 

 

Syed M Raza is a social media (SM) enthusiast, SMpreneur, SMBlogger trying to exchange value with like minded people. He especially enjoys people with a Tweeting mind and developing relationships to get a good level to his professional benchmark. 

 

 

 

Anders Sporring started out in Social Media in early 2008, and now pursues it professionally. Today he works as a social media Facilitator on freelance basis to help companies, organizations and people to find their way into the possibilities in the social media landscape.

 

 

 

Brian Remmel is a Senior New Media Specialist at FutureWorks, where he develops communications strategy for businesses that range from startups to fortune 500 companies. He uses a combination of new and traditional media to help his clients tell their stories. Brian’s enthusiasm for technology and its influence on media drives him to stay on top of emerging trends. In addition to his digital presence, Brian connects with his local community as a board member of the Silicon Valley and San Francisco chapters of the Social Media Club.

 

 

Courtney Jeffries is a Masters student at the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. She's taken coursework in usability, database management, and multimedia design. Previously, Courtney worked for three years as a Community Outreach Specialist at REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.). She is a member of Austin Usability Professionals Association and Social Media Club (Austin Chapter). Recently, Courtney was nominated to be on the 2011 EPIC (Emerging Professionals in Conservation) Leadership Board. 

 

 

Neil Lemons, since 2005, has worked through agencies, and his own consulting efforts, to help dozens of clients leverage major search engines like Google, Yahoo!, and MSN (BING) to create exposure, targeted traffic, leads, and sales. Using search and social techniques such as SEO, Blogging, Online PR, SEM, and Social Media Marketing, Lemons has literally made millionaires online. Being involved in Social Media sites since 2001, networking, promoting and building community on : Facebook, Twitter, Livejournal, MySpace, Friendster, YouTube, Tumblr, and others, Lemons takes a historical look at the growth of the Internet and business bringing key insights to new technologies. 


Susan Breidenbach
 is a certified social media specialist and certifiable technophile who has been covering information technology as a journalist, writer, magazine editor and industry analyst since 1984. She now helps businesses and non-profits with social media marketing strategy and content, and teaches social media classes to businesses and job seekers. She also co-founded and directs the Northern Nevada (Reno) chapter of the Social Media Club. 

 

 

Vicki Flaugher is an interactive marketing strategist who specializes in crafting effective & profitable online personas. She has been recognized in Forbes as one of 30 Women Entrepreneurs to Follow on Twitter, as well as one of WE Magazine’s Bloggers to Watch. What she truly loves about social media, connecting with interesting people. 

 

 

Anders Abrahamsson is co-founder and Programming Director of Social Media Club Östergötland, the first formally affiliated SMC Chapter in Sweden established Spring 2009, and a part of the six-headed Interim Board of Directors, building up Social Media Club – Chapter Support Association – Sweden (Facebook | Twitter | Web), constituted December 2009.

 

 


Nicole Schuman
 currently works as the web editor at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. She is also the President and co-founder of Social Media Club Buffalo. Ms. Schuman noticed a need for the organization in her region as her social media contacts continued to increase. Many colleagues reached out to one another, looking for a place where they could discuss the latest social media news and tactics, while also enjoying social interaction. Social Media Club Buffalo was born in July 2010 and is now an official chapter with over 25 active members. They not only provide each other with the latest knowledge and ideas on social media marketing and engagement, but offer to help those in the community with getting started as well.

Dan Holden is journalist and blogger with 25 years experience working in and around technology industries such as chip design and manufacturing, wireless networking and mobile computing, alternative energy, large and small screen video and film technologies, and social media. He is also a bit of a tech history buff and enjoys discussions about the impact of social media on traditional journalism and other forms of communication.

 

Peter Leech  is founder of Social Shopping Labs based in Kirkland, WA. Social Shopping Labs creates social promotional game applications for multiple channels including Facebook, web and mobile. Peter began his career at Procter & Gamble in Retail and Shopper Marketing and went on to work with Hanover Direct, General Manager of the ecommerce divisions of Chico’s FAS. Peter was most recently CMO of Onlineshoes.com, a fast growing footwear and apparel retailer, 197 on the Internet Retailer 500 and a leader in social media and online video

 

Joe Krasowski has more than 10 years of experience in integrated marketing communications. He is currently Marketing Communications Manager at DIA, a global, nonprofit, multidisciplinary association of nearly 18,000 professionals involved in the discovery, development, and life cycle management of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and related health care products.

More awesomeness is joining the Social Media Club Editorial Team,

Lucy Rendler-Kaplan lives in LA by way of Chicago, Lucy has been working in marketing for the past 10 years.

In her current position, she runs all the social media and marketing for O.N.E., One Natural Experience, an all-natural beverage company, with a focus on CSR.

 

 

Mike McClure is Partner & Executive Creative Director and Social Media Director at The Yaffe Group.  Mike has worked as a writer, producer and creative director in the advertising business since the time of yellow pads and pens. He’s been at The Yaffe Group since the early 90’s and now has added practitioner of digital and social media to the list of many hats he wears there. He also is editor and writer for the company blo www.yaffetidbitsblog.com. The Yaffe Group (www.yaffe.com) does both traditional and new media marketing, direct and email marketing, database management, social media, research, strategic planning and brand consulting, with offices in Detroit and Houston.

 

 

Candace Tyler is a writer, mother and creative thinker that has been actively engaging on social media platforms since 2003. Candace has been working in social media professionally since 2007 with clients such as the National Institutes of Health, The Dance Institute of Washington, as well as other corporate and individual clients. Her specialties include content creation and strategic messaging.
Candace's writing as been published in a number of print anthologies and online magazines including Woman's Work, and For Harriet. In her spare time, Candace enjoys yoga, blogging, looking for the meaning of life on the Twitter and spending time with her daughter.  

 

David Zoltan comes to social media through fundraising for the arts, especially theatre. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a Masters of Arts Management and then proceeded to learn to be a great communicator the way he does everything else, the hard way.

He's an entrepreneur, a geek, a hockey fan (Go Red Wings!), a writer, loves Green Lantern comics, a salesperson, plays board games, and even gets to enjoy living in the greatest theatre town on Earth, Chicago, every once in a while.

 

Mireille Massue has re-entering the workforce after a lengthy sabbatical from a position as VP of International Training. She has a marketing degree with a background in organizational learning, and online learning. Mireille was also an associate producer for television during her career and is interested in ‘hands on’ corporate education, combining the areas of broadcasting, technology and education to create healthy creative learning environments (think Pixar Studios) where people can participate in their own learning through conversation and collaboration.

 

Nicole Scott is a certified social media strategist based in Philadelphia,PA. She is the oldest out a family of three and thus can be quite bossy. Her professional experience has a range from recruitment and marketing to event planning and customer service. This has provided her with a 360 degree view of what the client experience is and how it can be improved. Nicole is the co-founder of "Click With Social Media". CWSM is a full service social media branding and public relations firm. Among their many services are social media strategies and consultation, promotional event planning, web content customization and DIY webinars.

Christine Cube is a media relations manager for PR Newswire. She also is part of the @PRNewswire and @PRNAlert teams on Twitter. Christine has a BS in print journalism from Radford University. She loves hula, running, Bikram yoga, and her corn snake, Beetlejuice. Christine absolutely cannot live without her Uggs, which have become her best friends in Southern California.
After cutting her journalism teeth as a reporter for The News-Virginian in Waynesboro, Va., Christine covered tourism and hospitality for the Washington Business Journal. She freelances for media agencies in DC and SoCal. More recently, she has taken on gigs as a ghost blogger, writing for a variety of entertainment sites. For those unfortunate enough to ever meet her red editing pen, she apologizes in advance.
Christine has received many journalism awards for her writing and currently is a member of the Social Media Club of San Diego.
