Earlier this month, the social media industry suffered a great loss. Trey Pennington, Founder of Social Media Club Greenville, SC left us too soon.
We’ve received several inquiries from our incredibly supportive SMC community, asking how they can help.
Trey’s friends with Social Media Club Greenville will be joining Social Media Club Spartanburg on October 9th for the Out of Darkness Walk. One of the local news anchors and SMC Spartanburg members, Amy Wood will be hosting the event. The Out of Darkness walk is a fundraiser associated with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. If you were one of the countless people that knew Trey, and knew what an incredible man he was, please consider donating to the “Trey’s Light” team, where all proceeds will benefit suicide prevention and awareness efforts across the country.
To ensure Trey’s memory continues, Jay Handler of SMC Greenville is trying to raise $5,000 for a memorial swing project, which will be installed at Falls Park in Greenville. If you’re interested in donating to this project, please contact Jay Handler directly.
For those who may not have known Trey well, but want to hear about how many lives he touched, along with his personal and professional accomplishments, we encourage you to listen to the Open for Business Blog Talk Radio show which aired last Saturday and was devoted to Trey’s tributes.
Thank you to all who have reached out, please continue to keep Trey’s family and friends in your thoughts.
